NatWest
Backend & DevOps engineering for a banking API programme
Code 83 has been embedded in an open-banking refactoring programme at NatWest since August 2023, designing and implementing the API layer that integrates the bank's core banking systems with its customer-facing services. The work covers the full delivery lifecycle: microservice and API development for processing and integrating banking data, automated testing through DEV and UAT phases, integration into monitoring frameworks, and deployment into test and production environments — all delivered to NatWest's own microservice and API standards. The engagement is ongoing.
“We are lucky to have a team member who can solve our most complex engineering problems related to infrastructure and interactions with other systems.”

Banking software
Finnova
Full-stack development for the Advisor Workbench
Code 83 worked as a development partner to Finnova, the Swiss core-banking software vendor, on its Advisor Workbench — a tablet-capable, process-guided workstation that gives bank client advisors a single modern interface over the Finnova core. Across a two-year engagement, Code 83 was embedded full-time in Finnova's product team, delivering feature work end-to-end through the product's regular sprint cycle — Java / Spring Boot on the backend, Angular on the front end. The work shipped customer-information consolidation and guided processes — such as account opening in under ten minutes without back-office involvement — now in production across several Swiss cantonal banks.
“We are very satisfied with the performance and dynamic of Code 83. We were happy to extend their engagement.”
Head of Development, Finnova
Sustained, embedded full-stack engineering on a regulated core-banking product, delivered inside the client's own agile process.
Solar / clean energy
Swiss Solar Solutions
IT assessment and transformation programme
Code 83 was engaged by Swiss Solar Solutions (3S), a Swiss solar technology manufacturer, to assess its IT and chart a way forward. The work began with a focused assessment — analysing core IT systems, interviewing stakeholders across IT, finance, manufacturing and other functions, and mapping IT risks and costs — and produced a phased IT strategy. Code 83 then took operational responsibility for IT and executed that strategy. Within the programme, IT costs fell sharply — quarterly IT spend dropped by nearly half year over year — while IT kept running reliably, putting 3S firmly on track for a sustained reduction in annual IT costs.
“Great that, alongside reliably running IT, we keep getting costs more and more under control.”

Energy / utilities
EW Buchs
IT assessment and transformation roadmap
Code 83 carried out a full IT assessment for EW Buchs (Elektrizitäts- und Wasserwerk der Stadt Buchs), the municipal utility for electricity, water and telecommunications in the city of Buchs. Over roughly two months in 2024, Code 83 analysed the utility's entire IT system landscape — interviewing IT, business and supplier stakeholders and evaluating each core system against the industry-standard Gartner TIME model for technical and functional fitness, alongside a multi-year cost review. The assessment produced a target technology strategy and three phased solution variants forming a transformation roadmap, delivered as a detailed report and presented to EW Buchs management in a closing workshop.

SaaS / accounting technology
Swiss Startup
Building a document-exchange SaaS from the ground up
Code 83 built a SaaS platform that makes document exchange between accounting firms and their business clients simple, fast and secure — currently in its pilot phase and launching soon. Accounting firms collect, categorize and automatically route client paperwork into their existing systems; clients submit documents in minutes from a native mobile app. Code 83 delivered the product end to end — a web portal for accounting teams, native iOS and Android apps for clients, the backend services and integrations, and the cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines that run it. The platform is built with React and TypeScript on the web, Capacitor for native mobile, a Spring Boot and Java backend, and AWS cloud infrastructure as code.
End-to-end product engineering — taking a SaaS product from concept to a production-grade, multi-platform build across web, native mobile, backend and cloud.
Sports / media technology
VisioTag
From idea to a shipped Apple app in three months
Code 83 built VisioTag, a native Apple (iPad and Mac) application for fast video tagging and clip creation, used by sports analysts, coaches and media professionals to rapidly tag match and training footage, turn tagged scenes into review clips and video summaries, and organize footage into projects — running entirely on-device with no cloud dependency. Code 83 delivered the whole product — technical product management, engineering, testing and release management — taking VisioTag from initial idea to a published App Store app in just three months.
